Hank Green, half of the popular YouTube channel known as the vlogbrothers, recently posted a video discussing human sexuality. When most people hear the term, “sexuality,” they think it only relates to sexual orientation. However, Hank explains that there is so much more to the word. Sexuality also has to do with a person’s sex, gender identity, sexual behaviors and gender roles.

As an avid follower of the vlogbrothers, I’ve been exposed to many interesting topics, ideas and opinions. However, scrolling through their channel and finding a video entitled “Human Sexuality is Complicated…” was a pleasant surprise. Here at Sex, Etc., we have the privilege of being educated about what sexuality is. Unfortunately, many teens are not as lucky, but for those not in the know, Hank’s video offers a three-minute crash course on what sexuality is. It reaches viewers all around the world. So far, more than 600,000 people have seen it, and hopefully, they’ve gotten his message of understanding and respect:

“… what’s really important is that we trust ourselves and we understand ourselves and we love and respect ourselves. And we grant that same understanding and respect to the people around us.”
