A school policy that typically pertains to sexuality education courses, but can pertain to other content as well. It is a policy where parents have to give permission for their children to take human sexuality education course when it is offered at school. Most schools tell parents when their children will be taking a sexuality education class. In some school districts, parents have to sign and return a permission slip agreeing to let their children take the course. That is called an “opt-in” policy, and unless parents give their permission their children will be taken out of those classes.
