HIV

The human immunodeficiency virus is the virus that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS ).  The virus weakens a person’s immune system so that the person can’t fight off everyday infections.  HIV is transmitted from exposure to an infected person’s blood, semen, vaginal fluids or breast milk.
