I’m a lesbian, gay or bisexual.

Thanks for answering my questions. Can we talk about one more thing? You said something earlier about guys/girls, which assumes I’m heterosexual. Actually I am a lesbian/gay/bisexual.
I just wanted to let you know because I think having this information will help you give me better treatment. I’ll definitely feel more comfortable if you aren’t assuming that I’m someone I’m not.
(You may not feel comfortable coming out to someone as lesbian, gay or bisexual because you may fear for your safety. That is OK. You should never feel like you have to come out to someone, especially if you fear for your health and well-being. However, for doctors and other health care providers to be able to provide the best care for you, this may be good information to give them. Find LGBTQ-friendly health care providers.)
