Meet the Staff

Sofia Garcia (she/her)

Sofia (she/her), 17, is in her second year as a teen staff member. She first heard about Sex, Etc. through a friend who was on the staff. Sofia is passionate about theater. In her free time, you can also catch her listening to music, going to the movies with friends or roller skating! Her favorite subject in school is history, and she also writes for her school newspaper. Sofia is an intern for the NJ DEMS LGBTQ+ Caucus, an organization that works to create inclusive policies for LGBTQ+ individuals and ensure representation of LGBTQ+ people in government. After high school, she plans to get a degree in theater and pursue a career in the performing arts while still advocating for comprehensive sex education. Sofia is looking forward to another year here at Sex, Etc.
