Siya Angras (she/her)
Writing for: 1 year
Siya (she/her), 18, is a writer, swimmer, poet and activist. She is also comforting, social, confident and adventurous. Siya believes that writing is one of the best ways to share an opinion, and with the platform that Sex, Etc. offers, she’s excited that her writing will reach an even bigger audience. She is also a student advocate for STRIPED (Strategic Training Initiative for the Prevention of Eating Disorders), based at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Boston Children’s Hospital. With STRIPED, Siya works on projects like a bill banning body size discrimination in NJ and collaborates with advocacy groups fighting colorism (prejudice against those with a darker skin tone, often among people of the same ethnic or racial group) in India. She is also a middle school debate coach, student council vice president and editor-in-chief of her school newspaper.
