Melissa, 17, is such an inspiration. She packs her days full with activities from cello and varsity tennis to submitting short stories to a publication in China and running her own nonprofit aimed to help lower-income musicians, called The Pitch Out Program. Of course, she always finds time in her schedule for her favorite shows, The Office and Friends, as well. Melissa’s approachable, diligent and committed personality fits right in with the staff at Sex, Etc., and she thinks this will enable her to connect with other teens across the country and let their voices be heard. While she’s on staff at Sex, Etc. she wants to stimulate conversation among teens about sex education and normalize talking about topics that can be considered taboo, like sexually transmitted diseases and safer sex.
