Libby Atkins

Meet Libby Atkins, 17, of Somerset, NJ! An ambitious writer and activist, Libby wanted to write for Sex, Etc. to raise awareness about reproductive rights and health care. She is passionate about making reliable sexual and reproductive health information accessible to teens everywhere. Libby, dual-enrolled in high school and at Raritan Valley Community College, is set to graduate this May with both her high school diploma and an associate’s degree in science and mathematics! During her free time, Libby enjoys watching bad movies, like Spookies (1986), reading (especially Philip Roth) and experimenting with new recipes. She also leads her school’s chapter of New Jersey College Democrats and is treasurer for both her high school’s student council and National Honor Society. She loves gummy bears and noodles (but not together) and aspires to become an obstetrician and gynecologist for Planned Parenthood, a career that, according to Libby, combines her love of science, helping people and activism.
