Meet the Staff

Leslie Markevitch

Leslie is a 17-year-old who enjoys surfing, running and playing soccer. While she is athletic, she also has an artistic side. Leslie enjoys reading, and her favorite book is the classic A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. She also likes writing poetry and has won her school’s Poetry Out Loud competition twice. When she’s not playing sports or practicing her photography and other artistic skills, she can be found spending time with her pet canary Hibiscus. A staunch feminist, Leslie is writing for Sex, Etc. because she thinks it’s important to make sure that teens are educated about sexuality and have access to the information they need to make choices that are right for them when it comes to sexual health.
