Meet the Staff

Kayleigh Wharton

Kayleigh, 17, one of the sweetest people on the Sex, Etc. teen staff, describes herself as “creative, talkative and outgoing.” She learned about Sex, Etc. through her health teacher and her mom. Kayleigh knows not every teen gets as good and informative a sex education class and teacher as she did. She’s writing for Sex, Etc. to give more teens access to good sex ed, from a fellow teen’s perspective. In her sophomore year, Kayleigh became vice president of The Women’s Issues Club at her high school, where she raises money for organizations like the Red Cross; the Hyacinth AIDS Foundation, which helps people living with HIV; and Women Aware, which promotes the safety and independence of individuals or families who’ve gone through domestic abuse. Kayleigh also has a pet dog (Chocolate Chip aka Chippy) and cat (Kabuki) who are best friends. She loves to sing and has a passion for trying all kinds of new and different foods.
