Meet the Staff

Julia Diaz (she/her)

Julia (she/her), 17, is a junior in high school. This is her first year at Sex, Etc. and she’s excited to start writing! Julia was inspired to join the staff after becoming aware of the impacts a lack of sex education could have, such as higher risk of sexually transmitted infections or unintended pregnancy. At Sex Etc. she’d like to focus on the effects—both good and bad—that media can have on teen attitudes toward sex and sexuality. In terms of extracurriculars, Julia enjoys playing trumpet for her school’s marching band as well as participating in Model UN, Debate and Student Council. Fun fact: Julia hopes to visit all the national parks and fill up her National Parks Passport with stamps!
