Meet the Staff

Jack Scala

Jack, 16, is a very busy guy. Not only does he observe patient care at a hospital in New York City to get a better idea of what it means to be a doctor, but he also shadows doctors there in cardiac surgery, orthopedic surgery and neonatal care. He wants to be a cardiovascular surgeon, so this is very exciting for him! In his spare time, he enjoys talking to friends, running and playing tennis. Smart, funny and passionate about his schoolwork, Jack even started a journal (Journal of Allied Sciences) that publishes original student research. Jack joined the Sex, Etc. staff because he feels strongly about quality sex education for teens. He especially wants to write about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and ways to stop them with sex education. He’s excited about this year and all of his future articles!
